LOS ANGELES, CA—California State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo endorsed Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer, today in his bid to fill California’s new 59th Assembly District seat.
“We need real problem solvers in Sacramento,” said State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo. “Reggie Jones-Sawyer has the right skills-set and experience of working with people from different backgrounds to get things done. I trust that he’ll work hard to serve his constituents well, and that’s why I’m proud to support him for State Assembly.”
“Thoughout his career, Assemblyman Cedillo has been an outstanding public servant, and I am thrilled to count him as one of my top supporters,” said Jones-Sawyer. “I plan on working with him to rebuild California by creating more jobs, growing our economy, and re-establishing our schools as the best in the nation.”
Just last week, Jones-Sawyer won the support of Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry and State Senator Alex Padilla.
The new 59th Florence-Graham District includes many of the same neighborhoods in the former 48th Assembly District.
Jones-Sawyer currently serves as Director of Asset Management for the City of Los Angeles, Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Board Member of Los Angeles County’s Small Business Commission, and Vice President of the Los Angeles Professional Managers Association (affiliated with SEIU Local 721). His history of public service includes formerly serving as Chair of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Assistant Deputy Mayor for the City of Los Angeles.
