LOS ANGELES, CA—California State Assemblyman Ricardo Lara announced his endorsement of Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer, today in his bid to fill California’s new 59th Assembly District seat.
“Right now our economy is in shambles, and our state is in desperate need of reforms that can help to create jobs,” said Assemblyman Lara. “I’m endorsing Reggie because he has an understanding of the complexities of government, and how streamlining projects and cutting the red tape can help to reduce the burdens that prevent businesses from growing at the pace they need to, in order to hire more workers.”
“Assemblyman Lara’s endorsement of my candidacy speaks to our shared commitment of creating more good paying jobs, helping to rebuild our economy, improving our schools, ensuring a clean environment, and keeping our streets safe through increased public safety measures,” said Jones-Sawyer. “I am honored to have his support.”
In addition to today’s endorsement, Jones-Sawyer has racked up a powerful list of endorsements including, California State Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, State Senator Alex Padilla, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 24, and the Los Angeles Professional Managers Association.
The new 59th Florence-Graham District includes many of the same neighborhoods in the former 48th Assembly District.
