

LOS ANGELES, CA—Maintaining his frontrunner status, today Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer scored another key labor endorsement by announcing that the Teamsters Joint Council 42 were joining his campaign for Assembly.
“Reggie Jones-Sawyer is our choice for California’s new 59th Assembly seat,” said Randy Cammack, President of Teamsters Joint Council 42. “We know that he’ll be labors champion in the legislature, and once elected, he’ll get right to work on day one, focusing on growing our economy and getting Californian’s back to work.”
“I plan on being the labor candidate in this race,” said Jones-Sawyer. “And having the backing of the Teamsters Joint Council 42 demonstrates my closes ties with working men and women. It also shows that they know I’ll fight for them in the legislature.”
Jones-Sawyer has racked up a powerful list of endorsements including, State Senator Alex Padilla, State Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, State Assemblyman Ricardo Lara, State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 24, and the Los Angeles Professional Managers Association.
The new 59th Florence-Graham District includes many of the same neighborhoods in the former 48th Assembly District.
