Former Congresswoman Diane Watson Endorses Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer for Assembly

Jones-Sawyer Campaign Receives Enormous Boost with Endorsement from Legendary and Influential Former Congresswoman

LOS ANGELES, CA—Continuing to grow his list of key endorsements, today Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer won a major endorsement from former Congresswomen Diane Watson.

“Californian’s deserve representatives who are 100% committed to getting this economy moving again,” said former Congresswoman Diane Watson. “And that’s why I’m proudly supporting Reggie Jones-Sawyer for the 59th Assembly District, because I trust that he’ll work hard in Sacramento to craft pro-jobs and economic development legislation that produces tangible results that will help grow our economy.”

“I’ve always admired Congresswoman Watson’s deep commitment to helping her constituents,” said Jones-Sawyer. “She’s served as a role model for me, and I am absolutely honored to have her support in my Assembly campaign.”

Last week Jones-Sawyer secured endorsements from Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz.

Jones-Sawyer has also racked up a powerful list of endorsements including, Communications Workers of America (CWA) Southern California Council, UA Local 78 Plumbers, Teamsters Joint Council 42, Laborers (LiUNA) Local 300, State Senator Alex Padilla, State Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, State Assemblyman Ricardo Lara, State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, Los Angeles City Councilman Tony Cardenas, Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks, Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 24, and the Los Angeles Professional Managers Association. The new 59th Florence-Graham District includes many of the same neighborhoods in the former 48th Assembly District.
