LOS ANGELES, CA—Coming on the heels of his endorsement from the Laborers (LiUNA) Local 777 yesterday, today Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer won a key endorsement from Congresswoman Janice Hahn.
“Reggie is a proven self-starter who cares deeply about the many problems facing California,” said Congresswoman Hahn. “Throughout his career, he’s developed a keen understanding of the inner workings of government and knows how to navigate the sometimes challenging bureaucracy. He’s also developed a broad portfolio of relationships with labor, the Democratic Party and small business groups that will prove useful when building coalitions in the legislature. I’m endorsing him because I believe he is by far the most qualified candidate to represent California’s new 59th Assembly District.”
Since first announcing, Jones-Sawyer has racked up a significant list of endorsements from influential labor groups including, Laborers (LiUNA) Local 300 & Local 777, Communications Workers of America (CWA) Southern California Council, UA Local 78 Plumbers, Teamsters Joint Council 42, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 24, and the Los Angeles Professional Managers Association.
Additionally, he’s picked up a number of powerful endorsements from elected leaders, including, former Congresswoman Diane Watson, State Senator Alex Padilla, State Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod, State Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, State Assemblyman Ricardo Lara, State Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, Los Angeles City Councilman Tony Cardenas, Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks, Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz, and Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel. The new 59th Florence-Graham District includes many of the same neighborhoods in the former 48th Assembly District.
